Episode 7 Title

Episode 7:

The Summer Gone by...

Next day, Tsuyoshi arrives to the flower shop. He greets Mahoko who was watering the plants outside. She remembers the kiss last night and daydreams a bit. Unfortunately, for Tsuyoshi, while lost on her thoughts, Mahoko waters him instead! Mahoko tries to clean a bit with her apron, but Tsuyoshi insists it is nothing. Tsuyoshi asks Mahoko if they can meet at the park later that night.

In the park, standing over a bridge, Mahoko tells about a school that world's top flower arranger attends. She thanks Tsuyoshi for being her friend, and when she says so, they two face other. Tsuyoshi moves forward, as if to kiss Mahoko, and she... runs away! After a short chase, Mahoko says that if he catches her, he can steal a kiss. But, since they, are standing to next other, Tsuyoshi grabs her inmediately. "It isn't fair", complains Mahoko, as she wasn't ready yet. "A promise is a promise", says Tsuyoshi, as he kisses her.

Next day, Katorea Master says Mahoko will begin today. "Begin what?", asks Tsuyoshi. "Flower arrangement school", answers Mahoko. "Do your best", says Tsuyoshi, just as somebody enters the shop. It's Mayumi. She is there to check how is Tsuyoshi is doing. They began such a friendly chat, that it annoys Mahoko. She throws the apron to a chair, but Katorea Master noticed it. "Is there something wrong, Mahoko-chan?" he asks. Mahoko tells there is nothing. As Mahoko is leaving, Tsuyoshi tells her, again, to do her best; but she she replies angrily when leaving. Tsuyoshi asks Mahoko to stop, but she runs away. Mayumi makes fun of Tsuyoshi saying he hurted her feelings, while she walks away. "Tsuyoshi-kun there is still work to be done!" shouts Katorea Master.

That night, at Mahoko's house, she is watching herself in a hand mirror. She wonders herself about Tsuyoshi and if he loves anybody else. Does he? As she falls to her bed, she is still wondering... Another day, Tsuyoshi and Mahoko are at an aquarium. While Tsuyoshi speaks to Mahoko, she is totally lost on her thoughts. When they leave the aquarium, Mahoko stops. Tsuyoshi asks if there is any problem, which Mahoko replies she has flower arrangement class. Tsuyoshi is a bit annoyed, as Mahoko apologizes and leaves.

On another day, Katorea Master sends Tsuyoshi to deliver some flowers to a flower arrangement school. When he arrives, he finds Mahoko, there, but decides to hide. Tsuyoshi hears the conversation between the sensei and Mahoko. It seems that Mahoko wants to attend the top flower arrangement school she mentioned, but according to the sensei, there is still more for Mahoko to learn, yet. So, while walking back to Katorea, Tsuyoshi is a bit lost on his thoughts. Mayumi who was there nearby, calls him.

They go to a park, and there, Tsuyoshi explains the situation about Mahoko. "So that's the school she wants to attend? Still there are others", says Mayumi. "But it is her dream to go to that one", replies Tsuyoshi. "Is that so..." says Mayumi, "better go back to work!"

When Tsuyoshi arrives to Katorea, Mahoko has almost walked there, too. Katorea Master asks Mahoko about the interview with the sensei, and if she met Tsuyoshi when he made his delivery there. Mahoko is surprised, since she didn't met Tsuyoshi. She looks at him, but Tsuyoshi can't look her back.

Eyecatch time!

Mahoko and Tsuyoshi meet each other that night in a another park. They aren't facing each other while speaking. Tsuyoshi asks if she wants to go to that top flower arrangement school, which Mahoko replies yes. She apologizes for not telling him. Tsuyoshi tells her, if that's her dream, she should do her best. She really appreciates what Tsuyoshi is telling her. She removes the tears that just began to flow, to avoid letting Tsuyoshi know she is crying. "I will do my best, Tsuyoshi, says Mahoko as she runs away, leaving Tsuyoshi alone in the park.

Various scene appears, Mahoko attending the school at night, while Tsuyoshi is on his bed, but a bit restless. They still works part-time at Katorea, but they does not seem to be speaking to each other.

One day, when Mahoko is leaving her class, she meets Mayumi. They go to the fast food restaurant that is below the flower arrangement school, where Mayumi tells Mahoko there is nothing between Tsuyoshi and her. It surprises Mahoko, as she didn't expect her to say that. Mayumi apologizes for being troublesome to them, as she leaves. But Mahoko stays thinking about what Mayumi said.

Another day... Mahoko hands Tsuyoshi some flowers to be delivered, but Katorea Master tells him that it will be his last day working. The last day? It surprises Mahoko. But she is interrupted by Katorea Master, telling Mahoko that she has classes early that day. By the time she answered Katorea Master, Tsuyoshi has already left. Later that night, Mahoko is making an arrangement on her class, but she does not seem to concentrate on what she is doing. When classes ended, she finds Tsuyoshi was waiting for her. Mahoko asks if Tsuyoshi wants to go to the beach once more, as the summer is ending. He agress to.

That day, at the beach, they are running, Tsuyoshi chasing Mahoko, but Tsuyoshi suddenly stops running. He begins to jump in pain, as if something had cut his foot again. Mahoko runs back to Tsuyoshi, to check if he is fine. "Just kidding!" says Tsuyoshi (I can play being-hurt, too!). How can you make fun of me? as Mahoko begins crying. "No, sorry, I didn't mean it!" says Tsuyoshi. "Just kidding", says Mahoko! Then, Tsuyoshi, rush to Mahoko, but he ends up falling on top of her... and kisses Mahoko. They keep playing at the beach until sunset.

They made a small fire, as the sun goes down. (Mahoko is wearing with a green dress). Mahoko thanks Tsuyoshi for all the memories on the summer. She walks a bit, but not facing Tsuyoshi. "But now, I have to go, since I have to prepare for the flower arrangentmenet school". "Will I see you soon", asks Tsuyoshi. Mahoko says no, as she has to study more. "Will I see you again", asks Tsuyoshi. Mahoko answers no...

Mahoko is shown with a sad face. She confesses that she loves Tsuyoshi, but he does not love her. She tells him from on, they will have separate ways so that she can follow her dream. Tears begins to flow. Tsuyoshi almost walks towards Mahoko, but instead, he turns away. "Am I capricious?", asks Mahoko. "No, you are not", says Tsuyoshi, "you are following your dreams". Tears are still on Mahoko eyes, but now, she is smiling. "I understand", says Mahoko. "Good bye" says as she walks away. Tsuyoshi is standing near the fire, and says to himself, "but I do love you Mahoko". Mahoko, from far, looks to the sunset once more time, as she takes the bus.

Sidenote: I will have to spoil this part, to those who haven't seen it, as you may not get the entire last paragraph. It is really difficult for me to describe it without having to resort on more specific spoilers than what you have read. The easiest way to "feel" it, is to watch that scene. If you decide "it's enough", please, skip the rest of this sidenote.

The reason why Tsuyoshi refuses Mahoko's confession is for her own sake, so that she can follow her own dream. When I wrote she was smiling, is because she knew Tsuyoshi love her too, but he decided to hold back.
